Off to the game.....

Here are my boys - off to a Manitoba Moose game tonight!

My big boy and my little boy. Aren't they cute? :)
Laura reading - cozied up in a chair, under a blanket, in the beautiful Manitoba sun that has filled most days this winter. Gotta love that!
A mild day this past week (above 0!!!) found my quilt hanging out to dry, Corin and Caleb having a picnic of sorts on the deck and Yvetta out in underwear and slippers. But not for long. I found her out and brought her in, but to her dismay and general confusion since, after all, she had slippers on......it wasn't like she was in bare feet, or anything!

Psalm 91 Sons of Korah

This is one that we don't have yet. First time we've heard it. We love the way this group Sons of Korah sing the Psalms! The words of the psalm writers are so rich and peaceful, especially in times of need...

You Are My King (Amazing Love)

Corin Turns 6 - Yvetta is 3

The opening months of each year are busy for us - birthday wise, that is! First Rich in mid-January, then Yvetta at the end of Jan., and then Corin at the beginning of Feb. Mine comes shortly after, but since obsessively reminding people that my birthday is coming up is a thing of my past, I won't talk about it ;)

Corin's gift from the grandpas and the grandmas - Hot wheels tracks and racing loop and car launcher. He loves it all - thank you so much!
His life consists of all things manly and warlike. You know, like guns, fighting, making lots of wild and crazy noises with his mouth whilst spit and other things fly out and land on whatever.......

His friends from the H. family came over to help him celebrate! They gave him the 'Horton Hears a Who' movie which is now a new favourite. I only saw the first 1/2 hour as I had to leave for ladies bible study, but it was pretty funny/cute even in that short time - thanks, Erica & kids!

6. Six. I'm having trouble here. He even stayed over at someone's house this week for dinner WHILE I LEFT!!! My little guy is getting brave and while I like it and want it I also let go with much reluctance. But he still regularly tells me that, after the Lord (of course - he always adds "of course" :)) he loves me best. I'm consoled. And he still lets me know, from time to time, that when he gets married he and his family will still live with us. I'm looking forward to it :)

Yvetta's good friend Mr. Mark. He came and drew pictures with her on her new Etch-a-Scetch (from Grandma and Grandpa S. for her birthday - THANK-YOU!!!) and he's now her new hero/best friend rolled into one. At least for today. She changes the focus of her admirations quite rapidly. To be honest, she's been calling him "Mrs. Mark"......but we've been correcting her, don't worry ;)

Our 3-year old princess :)
Does anyone from my family recognize this bowl? It brings back many memories for me!

Even more expansion

This is a Manitoba snowman in our backyard. The definition of a Manitoba snowman is: "when the February thaw comes, make a snowman as fast as you can before the freeze sets in for the next while". :) :) We also made a skating rink. Still working on it...
More expansion. The trusses came this week.
Looking good!

Good thoughts...

...from Kevin DeYoung:

"I’m no expert in preaching. But I do it lot and I try to help young men get better at it. So while I may not be the world’s best preacher or a seasoned homiletics instructor, I have given a good deal of thought into what makes good preaching good."

Summer...

Someone said yesterday that just imagining warm weather is like experiencing it for real....
